AVAILABLE MONDAY MARCH 29th. Latest album from Will Oldham under the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy moniker is a very different affair to recent outings 'Lie Down in the Light' and 'Beware'. Stripping both the country-rock-folk band arrangements and the extroverted yodelly vocals we end up with an album that demands a quiet introspective listen. Early impressions hint at some wonderful poetry amidst the usual flashes of bawdiness and rebellion. And there's poetry in those too of course.
The Cairo Gang is Oldhams good friend Emmett Kelly, providing vocals and some gorgeously restrained electric guitar to illustrate Oldhams simple strums. He last appeared on Bonnie album 'The Letting Go' and there is some of that albums soft spirit here. An album that will unfurl slowly and well.
