Grinderman - 2 (Reissue)

Released in spring 2012, Grinderman 2 RMX collects a dozen jagged reimaginings from the Nick Cave breakaway band's brief but explosive second act. Drawing from 2010's Grinderman 2, the record drags its yawping originals through a galled hall of warped mirrors, its remixes less like club-friendly tweaks, more radical hotwirings. 'Super Heathen Child' sees the band link with prog elder Robert Fripp for a muscular overhaul of the MOJO-endorsed 'Heathen Child', while trip-hop modern Unkle tears into 'Hyper Worm Tamer', and Josh Homme roughhouses 'Mickey Mouse And The Goodbye Man'. The inclusion of the original demo 'First Evil' adds a final, feral footnote.
