First released on Bethlehem Records in 1955, ‘The Jazz Experiments Of Charles Mingus’ was a compilation of some of the jazz bassist and composer’s material for Period Records, initially presented as two 10” records then later merged into one release. You can hear the development of a prodigiously talented young artist as he lays the foundations for some of his later masterpieces like ‘Black Saint And The Sinner Lady’.
