Charlie Parr - Little Sun

The first time I saw Charlie Parr play was in front of a few people having their dinner in a restaurant in Duluth MN. At that point, he was the Skip James guy in Ghost World. It's incredible how far he has come since then but it is all richly deserved. The man plays a lovely blend of authentic folk blues mostly recorded in a relatively lo-fi style but this collaboration with hotshot producer Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens etc) sees him working with a full band in more of a high-end setting.
