Speak Like a Child' was originally released by Blue Note in 1968, and showed off multi-directional artist Herbie Hancock - who'd played jazz, funk, electronic and classical music -- in a standard jazz and hard bop mode. It also shows Hancock turning his interest to perfecting and experimenting with harmonies over chord progressions. 'Speak Like a Child' is getting a reissue as part of Blue Note's birthday reissue campaign. Happy birthday Blue Note! You're getting old.
