‘Archive Series Volume No. 5: Tallahassee Recordings’ is another delve into the vaults of Sam Beam’s Iron & Wine. This eleven-track collection was recorded between 1998 and 1999, well before the I&W moniker even existed and Beam was studying film at Florida State. He’s accompanied by future bandmate EJ Holowicki on these fragile, homespun alt-folk tracks, all except one of which have never been made available before.
