Mazzy Star - She Hangs Brightly (Reissue)
Perhaps the second best known Mazzy Star album after 'So Tonight That I Might See', She Hangs Brightly is also the debut album by the band, first appearing on Rough Trade amid the same late 80s haze that ran *en course* with early stirrers as Red House Painters or Galaxie 500. True to their origins as a nebulaic reconstruction of the band Opal - formed of the loose syndicate known as the Paisley Underground, a consortium of post-psych-everything LA bands in the 90s - we hear former opalescent guitarist team up with now vaunted singer Hope Sandoval for a simpler blues-gaze bill-topper, with tracks like 'Ride It On' and 'Give You My Lovin' proving that they'd perfected the formula long before 'Fade Into You'.
