Released precisely one year after 2020’s ‘Imploding The Mirage’, The Killers’ seventh studio album ‘Pressure Machine’ would seem to serve as a sort-of companion piece to its predecessor - again, the band produced it themselves in league with Shawn Everett and Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado. But ‘Pressure Machine’ is a very different type of Killers album: inspired by the inactivity of lockdown, it’s a character-driven record and much quieter, downhome and more reflective than the anthemic bombast with which we’re familiar.
