Manchester-based W. H. Lung delivered one of the best debut albums of 2019 with ‘Incidental Music’. Rather than replicate its krautrock-influenced grooves, however, the band (now minus Tom Derbyshire who is pursuing a career in filmmaking) opt for a dance music-based approach for sophomore effort ‘Vanities’, full of pulsating synths and sharp melodic hooks.
